His chivalry rivaled even that of the legendary knights of the Round Table. This presentation by Pastor Wilkins is one of the few recorded messages about the life of this great Southern general.





• Clyde Wilson - "John C. Calhoun"
  John C. Calhoun was the foremost spokesman for Southern Rights and "States' Rights" for an entire generation before the War for Southern Independence. He spent an entire career in Congress, representing his home state of South Carolina, and led the effort to nullify the Tariff of Abominations... an action which nearly precipitated war years earlier than it actually came. His vigorous defence of the use of the Doctrine of Nullification by the states is perhaps the single best chance to restore our liberties in the face of growing federal encroachment today. And there is none more qualified to speak on Calhoun than Professor Clyde Wilson of the University of South Carolina, editor of the Calhoun Papers.
